The assessment
What the assessment looks like
Timed questions, a progress indicator and an on-screen clock.
Source evaluation
A student essay cites a newspaper opinion column as proof that a university course “has no academic value”. Which response best evaluates that evidence?
- The column is recent, so it is a reliable academic source.
- An opinion column can raise a question, but it does not by itself prove the course has no academic value.
- Newspaper articles are never usable in academic work.
- The claim is true if the column names a university.
