How long should a skills assessment take?
A pre-employment or education assessment should be long enough to sample the stated skills and short enough that the sitting is still the assessment, not an unpaid project.

Length is part of fairness
Candidates now meet tests at several stages of one application, then again at the next employer. Fatigue is a predictable result. Cutting length by deleting the only items that measure the claimed skill is not an improvement. Cutting tasks that produce work the employer could have paid for often is.
A clear expectation includes the duration, the skills, the rules on tools, and what the candidate receives afterwards. A result the candidate cannot see is a weak exchange for an hour of effort.
GlobalPass+ durations
Published pathway lengths are 60 minutes for Foundations, 75 for University Entry, 90 for Undergraduate Benchmark and Postgraduate Readiness, 100 for Graduate Launch, and 110 for Professional Leadership. Each paid sitting includes a score, a competency profile, a report and a certificate.
Practice forms exist so a candidate can learn the format before a paid sitting. Practice does not issue the certificate. A retake of a formal assessment waits 30 days.
