AI and digital literacy
Evaluate AI output, protect information and retain human oversight.
What you will learn
- Verify AI-generated claims against suitable sources.
- Protect confidential and personal information.
- Choose when accountable human judgement must lead.
Fluent output is not verified evidence. Break an AI response into factual claims, find an appropriate primary source and check whether that source supports the exact statement.
Do not place personal, confidential, copyrighted or institution-restricted information into an external tool without authority. Minimise data and understand retention and access rules first.
Automation can organise evidence or propose options, but responsibility remains with the decision-maker. High-impact, ambiguous and ethically sensitive decisions require meaningful human oversight.
