Check the evidence
Treat fluent output as an unverified draft. Identify each factual claim, find an appropriate primary source, check whether the source supports the exact claim and record uncertainty instead of hiding it.
Protect information
Do not paste personal, confidential, copyrighted or institution-restricted material into an AI system without clear authority. Remove unnecessary identifiers and understand the provider’s retention settings before use.
Know when not to automate
High-impact decisions, sensitive communication and ambiguous ethical situations require accountable human judgement. AI can support analysis, but responsibility remains with the person or organisation making the decision.
