Communication
Synthesize evidence and adapt clear messages to their audience.
What you will learn
- Lead with the decision, request or conclusion.
- Prioritise evidence for the intended reader.
- Use concise, respectful and accountable language.
Professional communication begins with purpose. Tell the reader what has happened, what you need or what decision you recommend before adding supporting detail.
Select evidence according to the reader's responsibility. An executive may need impact and risk; an operational colleague may also need sequence, owner and deadline.
Concise writing is not abrupt writing. Preserve necessary context, name responsibilities and avoid vague language that hides uncertainty or accountability.
