Aptitude test or skills assessment?

An aptitude test asks how you handle a problem you have not rehearsed. A skills assessment asks you to carry out a task that resembles study or work. One samples a reasoning step. The other samples performance. They answer different questions, and a single product can contain both.

What each method is for

Aptitude items travel across jobs because they are abstracted: a chart, an assumption, a short argument. They are easier to keep comparable. They are a weak picture of one particular desk. A skills task is closer to the work and harder to standardise. A long unpaid assignment that produces something an employer could have commissioned is a poor version of either.

Neither method is automatically fairer. Fairness depends on what the item assumes, whether the time limit measures the claimed skill, and whether an accommodation exists when the barrier is unrelated to that skill.

Where GlobalPass+ sits

Each pathway mixes reasoning items with applied tasks and reports both as one score and a competency profile. It is not a multi-day simulation of one employer's workflow, and it is not only an abstract IQ-style battery. Durations and prices are on the assessment pages.

Use the online assessment page to choose a stage and sit. Use this page when the question is which method you need.

Questions

Is a graduate aptitude test the same as a graduate skills assessment?

Not always. A graduate aptitude test may only sample reasoning. Graduate Launch also includes communication, data, responsible AI use and professional decisions. Read the pathway page for the exact list.
