Skills-based hiring and degrees
Degree-based hiring treats a qualification as the main screen. Skills-based hiring asks for evidence of what the person can do as well, or instead, where the role does not legally require the qualification. The two are not opposites. Most serious processes use both.

What a degree is good for
A degree records subject learning, time in a programme, and the institution's award. It is weak evidence of how someone checks a source under a clock, or how they handle an incomplete brief. That weakness is not the same as saying the degree was worthless.
Where a regulator requires a qualification, a skills score cannot stand in for it. Where the role is open to more than one educational path, a verified task result gives a common scale the transcripts do not.
What GlobalPass+ adds to that choice
A candidate can sit the pathway that matches their stage and share the certificate next to the degree or the application. The employer can verify the certificate. The score does not accept or reject the person. Index publication is optional and separate.
If the only change is a longer hiring process with no new evidence in the decision, the assessment has not earned its time. Say what the sitting is for before you ask for it.
Questions
Should employers drop degree requirements?
Only where the degree is not required for the work or by law. A skills assessment is additional evidence. It is not a reason to pretend a required qualification does not exist.
