How universities can measure graduate employability skills
Most universities can show what students studied. Fewer can show the transferable skills graduates leave with.
Grades remain essential. They do not, on their own, describe reasoning, data literacy, communication, digital judgement or how a student makes a decision when the brief is incomplete.
What can be measured without taking the place of the degree
Undergraduate Benchmark is for students already in university years 1 to 3. Graduate Launch is for the final year and the first move into work: 100 minutes, with a score, competency profile, report and certificate. A cohort can be invited onto one form so the results are comparable. The university does not receive a private result unless the graduate shares it.
Participation can be tracked without opening those results. The assessment is not a ranking of the university, and it is not a substitute for placements, references or subject marks.
